Is your Lamp on a lampstand?

Matt. 5:14-16: You are the light of the world, a city set on a hill cannot be hidden nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

I'm not trying to put a guilt trip on you by asking you this question, but I'm also sure that you are aware of the darkness around us. The fears producing anxiety in us as we watch our country, slowly at first and now more rapidly going down the toilet. One of the reasons for this slide is because we as Christians are not lifting up the name of our savior in this very Godless era of our country's history. Rather recently my wife was walking in our Walmart store and found a young man of about 17 years of age to talk with. As she was leaving him, she said, "Jesus Loves You." His response was "Who's Jesus?" Isn't that incredible! In a country that has has called itself a Christian nation for so long and has freedom of religion and freedom of speach, and that this young man (and I am sure many young men and women) didn't know the name of the greatest Person who has graced us with His presence on this earth. Sadly, I am sure that he is not the only one.

Which brings me to the next point, now that you may be wearing the Trust Jesus T-shirt you will undoubtedly have many Christians come up to you and say things like "I do!" or "He is the only One I can trust!" Many times, when this happens, "I am looking at the vegetables or icecream and I am not even aware that I am wearing the T-shirt. It is a good Idea to have a response ready so you can continue the conversation with a new brother or sister such as, "I don't know what I would do without him each and every day! or "I don't know how people live without Him!" Obviously you are free to craft your own reply.
